Book on Autism and three resource materials were also released by the Hon’ble
Minister for assessment of Autism using INCLEN and ISAA Tools.
This training workshop is first of its kind in India, after notification of Autism Guidelines on 26th April, 2016.
More than 75 professionals consisting of Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists and Pediatricians are attending the Workshop. This Workshop will continue for 3 days, upto 2nd September, 2016.
All these professionals will be taken to AIIMS on the third day for practical exposure, on the spot assessment.
These professionals will be trained as Master Trainers and shall provide training to other such professionals in their respective States for assessment of Autism.
The other dignitaries present were Dr. Vinod Aggarwal, Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Prof. M C Misra, Director, AllMS; Shri C. K Khaitan, Joint Secretary & CEO, the National Trust, Prof. V K Paul, Head, Department of Pediatrics and Shri Awanish Kr. Awasthi and Shri Mukesh Jain, Joint Secretaries of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. Prof. Sheffali Gulati, Child Neurology Division, Deptt. of Pediatrics, AIIMS was the Faculty & Convenor of the training Workshop. In addition to this, Faculty Members and Resource Persons from AIIMS and NIMH participated in the training workshop. Mr. Kannu Bhai Tailor, Padamshree Awardee was also present in the Workshop.
Director AIIMS, praised the Department and the National Trust for organizing such training workshop on Autism and said this type of training is very much required, involving AIIMS also, for generating awareness.
This training programme was organized by the National Trust in collaboration with the Child Neurology Division, Department of Pediatrics, AIIMS.
